TikTok may have violated DSA advertising transparency rules

Following an in-depth investigation, the European Commission has informed the short video social media platform TikTok of its preliminary findings that it is falling short of its advertising transparency obligations under the Digital Services Act (DSA) to disclose ad content, targeting and payment details. TikTok will now have the opportunity to examine the Commission's findings, which, if confirmed, could result in fines of up to 6% of its global annual turnover.
