NOYB seeks injunction against Meta over its European user AI training plans

Austrian privacy and digital rights advocacy group NOYB has sent a formal Cease and Desist letter to Meta and is seeking an injunction requiring the company to halt its plans to use publicly available content from European users to train its artificial intelligence (AI) models beginning on 27 May. This is the first time that NOYB has used its new Qualified Entity status under the EU Collective Redress Directive.
